Under The Ground Blinded by the sun’s golden rays as it grew higher still The sudden realization made me bang a fist on the windowsill The sound of a deafening shriek tore through my ears Noticing it coming from my lips confirmed my fears Beauty and radiance start embracing me with one arm Whispering wonderful reassuring words of no harm And caress my sweaty cheek with its other tender hand Trying to calm me down, and make me understand Whatever it is they are trying so hard to prove But the light is blinding me, I panic, I try to move I struggle, but I notice I am trapped, I can’t get away I scream and yell much louder, cursing the day It is very frightening, my heart starts beating much faster Skipping beats while my eyes widen, feeling disaster Coming close as they try to pull me outside “No, NO!” I yell, I break away, I run, I hide As I inhale and exhale sharply, I look around And find it peaceful, where I lie, under the ground |
